Dear Clients, Friends, Visitors,
Welcome to the first appearance of our blog, which will deal (mostly) with financial and economic matters, large and small, which effect your life and your (both tax and other) dollars.
We are excited!
We are here to communicate with you (this is not a monologue). Some of our topics will be big picture, some will be smaller or individual-focussed, some a mixture. After all, national unemployment of near 10% (the big picture) effects everyone, whether they are currently employed, unemployed or underemployed (the smaller picture) and their purchasing habits.
So where do we start?
The most important thing that you need to acknowledge is that YOU have the most control and interest in your own financial situation. Lots of people can help you...me, your insurance agent, your investment advisor, but you most of all. If you don't have people helping you with their specialized knowledge, you're cheating yourself.
And learn to do it smartly.
Take some time and inventory your financial habits. Are you a spender? A saver? How do you decide whether to make a purchase? Or not? When's the last time you checked to see if your finances make sense for your life today?
I have found that doing this once a year allows for necessary changes, and affirms what you are doing well.
More soon. Again, Welcome!!
Bob
